Project description
Semester 7:
How does varying the number of beacons in a controlled indoor environment affect the accuracy of location tracking, and what is the most cost-effective beacon configuration that balances accuracy with deployment costs? How do we integrate the whole system from the hardware part to the software?
Semester 3:
How can you track the number of people and their locations in a room using tags and beacons, while also monitoring occupancy levels through air quality sensors? What is the most cost-effective hardware for implementing this system, and how can the solution be developed from hardware to software?
Context
The Smart Classroom project is part of an initiative to enhance the classroom environment using IoT technologies. The project aims to incorporate IoT solutions for climate sensing, asset tracking, and energy management, ultimately providing a smarter and more energy-efficient learning space. The initiative is being driven by the need for modern educational spaces that can leverage technology to create a more responsive and adaptive learning environment.
Results
IoT platform that can monitor classroom environments and track assets in real-time. The platform integrates BLE-based asset tracking and climate sensing solutions. The deliverables include a dashboard, cloud storage integration, tags, and beacons for localization of the device.
About the project group
We spend 3 days a week, 7 hours a day on the project for 5 months. 2 days on-site, 1 day remote. We worked in sprints of 2 weeks, and every week we handled a meeting with the client.
