IT platform for Research projects (SAHRp)

Project description

The Shared Applied Research Hub platform (SAHRp) is a platform which is being developed to support research projects within Fontys. This can be any project that needs an infrastructure to support it, it also allows collaboration with companies and other universities in a shared and safe platform.

Context

The platform is now still in its starting phase, as this was the first semester that any implementation and serious action was taken for this platform.

Currently a lot of time is being lost in research projects because the transfer of the project to a new group. This is because new groups have to figure out how the research previous has been setup with limited documentation and sometimes incomplete documentation. Next to that projects often run in a platform which is not accessible by the new group. This makes it so there is a lot of opportunity to optimize these processes.

Results

The most important parts that are now established is the general idea of what the platform will be like, there is an automatic on boarding procedure for both projects and users and the first building blocks have been established.

A building block is something that can be compared to a service which can be used by research projects to safe time, think for example of an authentication building block which can be implemented so the group does not have to set it up from scratch.
