Project description
Project Holobox is an innovative research initiative exploring how interactions with virtual characters can enhance children's learning experiences outside traditional educational settings. At its core, the project centers around a unique display technology: a person-sized hollow box featuring a transparent screen capable of displaying photos, videos, and web content. The primary research question driving this project is "How can we empower children in their learning journey?" targeting children aged 8 to 12 years old.
Context
Project Holobox addresses the growing need for innovative, engaging educational tools that support children aged 8 to 12 in learning beyond traditional classrooms. By integrating cutting-edge display technology with interactive virtual characters, the project seeks to inspire curiosity and creativity.
Results
Within the Holobox project we have come up with 2 different concepts:
Space game
With the spacegame the players, children aged 8-12, will learn about space with a virtual character and how to think logically using commands to navigate a rocket to the moon.
Secret Sasha
A virtual character that tells you their secret. This will make the children reflect on how to navigate in those situations and how to give advice if their peers would confide in them.
