Masterclass: What does the EU AI Act mean for your organisation?
The EU AI Act is now in force, and the Data Act will also come into effect in September 2025. This will bring about significant changes for companies that use or develop AI technology. Organisations will face new obligations in the areas of AI literacy and data use. To help companies understand and apply this legislation, Fontys ICT, in collaboration with SPARC, is organising a masterclass at the Fontys ICT InnovationLab on 8 April. This masterclass is free of charge, but we do ask that you apply in advance.
Companies must ensure transparency in AI systems, manage risks and use data responsibly. The legislation calls for a proactive approach. Experts provide insight into the impact of the EU AI Act and Data Act and share practical tips for implementation within your organisation.
Broader awareness
Colette Cuijpers, professor of Law and Digital Technology, who will be speaking during the masterclass, emphasises the importance of AI literacy: ‘The AI Act not only forces organisations to deal with AI in a transparent and responsible manner, but also calls for a broader awareness of the risks and opportunities. AI literacy is essential to remain compliant and gain strategic advantage.
