Project description
The research aims to answer the main research question: “How can FHICT utilise the Data Skills Assessment tool to get more insight to improve the students’ learning process?”.
Context
Current semester 1, 2 and 3 FHICT students use the Data Skills Assessment tool to learn SQL. The students use this tool to take lessons, make assignments and finish daily queries. Data is collected on the students’ performance. Currently this data is not used. Students would like to receive information on the performance. Teachers want to have information on the students to find students possibly falling behind or detect difficult subjects. Administrators can use the data to detect difficulties for the students. The data is best used by create a dashboard for every stakeholder in which the desired data is visually provided. The general goal is to improve the learning process for the students.
Results
The project result is 3 dashboards. These 3 dashboards are for every stakeholder. The overall goal of the dashboards is to improve the students learning process. 1 Dashboard is for the students to give this stakeholder group insight into their own performance. The second dashboard is for the teachers to provide insight into the students performance and detect difficulties the students might be having. The last dashboard is for the administrators who want insight into the performance of the learning environment.
