Project description
The main research question for our project was about GDPR. This was mostly because our application gathers a lot of user information that needs to be stored in a safe and future proof way. Also we needed to look if the application consends to the rules of the EU.
Context
The Lectoraat Dynamische Talentinterventies group does research into discover, developing and utilize talent within a working context. Their goal is to contribute to giving everybody a chance to work in an environment where they can discover, develop and utilize their talents, and therefore do meaningful work.
To achieve this, they focus on three main parts:
Talent as basis for lifelong development
It's continuously expected for a professional to further their own development. In this line, professionals research how to efficiently continue their development while working, so that they continue to be efficient and feel like they’re doing fulfilling work.
Talent mobilization of individuals and teams in an organisation context
The research in this line focusses on questions that relate to the development of talent, their use within a team and the roles that leadership and talent climate play in the mobilisation of talent. They then also research what this means for the HR policy.
Talent mobilization based on solving workforce demand
This line focusses on the stress on the global workforce. They research what solutions are requested to relieve some of the stress on the global workforce, and how talent interventions would be received.
Results
In the previous semester a group of students worked on a system that allows the Fontys research group to conduct questionnaires through a Content Management System (CMS). At the moment, this CMS does not have the capabilities to view data that’s been received through the questionnaire.
For this new project they would like to introduce some extra functionalities within the CMS. For example, the possibility to download answers and change or delete questions and advices. The preferred situation is that the application has the extra functionalities and that known bugs are fixed within the application.
So in conclusion, our task consists of further developing the old application in such a way that the preferred functionalities are added.
About the project group
For this project we used an agile way of working through using the Scrum method with sprints of 3 weeks each. This will be accomplished through a daily standup, sprints, a demo, a retrospective and a sprint planning. The retrospective will be done at the end of every sprint, this will be communicated with the stakeholders every Thursday during the demo to let them know what went well and what didn't. After the retrospective planning, we make room for a sprint planning. In this sprint planning we will look at all available tickets and assign story points to each of them. When the tickets have story points assigned, we know how long a ticket should take. Then we will evenly divide the tickets among all the group members.
