Project description
Our group inherited the project from a previous group working on the same topic. They designed a multi-layer communication structure with a cloud-based user application, a low-power network, and a gateway in-between. Our main purpose was to research a new gateway that can connect the low power network with the cloud. Our secondary purpose was to overhaul the various components to make them work better.
Context
Our project is in the IIoT domain. It revolves around being able to locate assets using Bluetooth Low Energy Mesh as the communication method.
Results
Our most important outcomes are a new gateway and a system that is much more stable than the one from the previous group. It now also communicates with a functional website and has the minimum viable product requirements implemented.
About the project group
The project group consists of two people from Advanced Smart Industry (sem6/7) and three from Smart Industry (sem4). The two advanced students worked on the gateway and low-energy network, and the others on the cloud component. We cooperated on the communication between the cloud and gateway.
