Project description
The aim of this project is to make incremental improvements to the current design of ROOSH’s platform by combining multiple dashboards into a single dashboard while considering the changes requested by stakeholders. The end goal is to provide a starting point for the stakeholder to begin implementing the changes and integrating them into their web application.
Context
ROOSH is a globally active company that enables consumers to easily book mobility solutions online. They created VliegenenParkeren.nl – a platform allowing customers to find, compare and book reliable parking services based on price transparency in the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany. Today ROOSH is active in 11 countries worldwide across 3 continents – Europe, North America and Australia.
The platform mentioned in Project Description supports their websites by allowing parking providers and marketeers to manage the parking spaces on offer to end-users.
Results
The most important deliverable of this project is the (responsive) redesign of ROOSH’s platform. A lot of effort went into User Interaction research and Usability Testing with various kinds of users. One other important deliverable is the advice document that will be supplied together with the redesign, documenting who certain features are designed in the way they are and how the dashboard can continue to be expanded on in the future.
The redesign ensures a more optimal user experience, by re-organizing content and features in a logical way. Content that is relevant to each other is grouped together for easy accessibility and the amount of time it takes to perform frequent actions has been reduced across the board. Visibility of content has been improved as well by integrating more visual elements and additional features for a better user experience have been made available.
At the the same time, considering ROOSH is still a growing company, the dashboard has been designed in such a way that there is room to expand. In addition to which it has been made responsive as well, allowing on-the-go changes to be made by employees and parking providers alike through support for various devices (phones, tablets, laptops, desktops).
About the project group
Both group members are ICT & Media Design students in their third and fourth year, pursuing a Personalized Program this semester, and want to work in the industry as front-end developers.
The project itself spanned the entire semester, spread across 5 SCRUM sprints (3 weeks each). Every week was divided into 4 days for the group project and 1 day for the personal projects.
