Project description
Natlab is the inspiring place at Strijp-S in Eindhoven where new worlds are shown and alternative ways of thinking voiced, where you can experience arthouse films and theatre and enjoy good food and drinks. The location used to house the research department of Philips and it laid the foundation for the most important Philips inventions. The predecessor of the CD was made here, the first electronic music was created at Natlab and the first shortwave radio broadcasts took place in this very building. The building was reopened as an arthouse cinema, theatre and restaurant in 2013.
Although they have a rich history of research and inventions that shaped the modern world, this history is not visible in the venue itself. They would like to make our visitors aware of the significance of the place that they are visiting by showing them the past of Natlab.
