Project description
Research, Design, and Build a Consumer dApp PoC for Flow Streaming. This consumer dApp must be able to provide users with the core functionalities of a video streaming platform.
Context
Flow Streaming is an OPEN Project for Citric Labs with the aim of creating a trustless solution to video streaming for indie content with the Creator in mind. Flow aims to provide decentralized access to independent filmmaking with a transparent profit model ensuring that creators are fairly rewarded.
Results
A new software architecture was curated following the microservice approach. A number of services were then developed which would provide Web3 and Web2 login, Web2 Subscriptions are available, and Streaming & catalog are developed using Eluvio and their blockchain CDN tools (blockchain streaming).
With this creators can have a platform where they solely have the right and access to their content distribution, while users have a platform where they can directly pay their contribution to the creator and have access to a catalog of indie content.
About the project group
The Flow Project consists of two teams, both tasked with tackling different parts of Flow Streaming. The Creator dev team and the Consumer dev team. The Consumer dev team consists of 3 semester 6s and 2 semester 2s with various backgrounds. Throughout the last semester, these two teams had to work closely together to bring this independent content platform together.
