Project description
“How and in what way can Simac stimulate recognition to its workforce?”
Context
SIMAC IT NL is a Dutch family-owned IT organization catering to companies of all sizes. Our goal is to motivate employees through compliments and positive feedback. With over 700 active staff members, maintaining motivation and structure is crucial. We recognize the power of external motivation, like the encouragement we received as children when learning to ride a bike. In most workplaces, compliments for a job well done are often overlooked. Understanding the value of recognition, we prioritize the topic of "Compliments" to boost motivation and foster a positive culture at SIMAC IT NL.
Results
Our project is all about designing a narrowcasting system that aims to boost recognition within SIMAC. We put in a lot of effort to research and test different strategies to make sure our system effectively increases recognition and appreciation among the workforce. We focused on highlighting team updates, milestones, and other achievements to create a more positive and recognition-driven workplace.
After going through several rounds of iterations, we're proud to present our final designs, which closely resemble the actual narrowcasting system. These designs give a clear picture of how the system would look and function once implemented at SIMAC. We paid close attention to every detail to ensure the content and user experience seamlessly blend together, making a maximum impact on employee recognition.
The main goal of our narrowcasting system is to make employees feel valued and acknowledged. By displaying engaging and relevant content, we want to create an environment where everyone's achievements are celebrated. We want to put team updates, milestones, and other significant accomplishments front and center, fostering a sense of belonging and recognition among the workforce.
Our designs capture the essence of the real system. From the layout to the visual elements, we aimed to create an immersive experience that grabs employees' attention and makes them feel recognized. We made sure the content flows smoothly, effectively conveying key messages to the intended audience.
We've reached a Technology Readiness Level (TRL) of 3. This means we've gone beyond the initial concept and have proven the technical feasibility of our system.
Achieving TRL 3 sets the stage for future development and implementation of the narrowcasting system at SIMAC. We've laid a solid foundation, and now it's up to them to turn our designs into a functional and scalable solution. The insights we've gained from our research and testing provide valuable guidance for further refining and optimizing the system.
To sum it up, our project focused on designing a narrowcasting system to boost recognition at SIMAC. Through thorough research and testing, we've developed strategies to enhance recognition and appreciation among employees. Our final designs closely resemble the envisioned system and pave the way for future implementation. Reaching a Technology Readiness Level of 3 confirms the technical feasibility of our solution. We're confident that our narrowcasting system will contribute to fostering a culture of achievement and positivity, where recognition thrives at SIMAC.
About the project group
We are a diverse group of students currently following Semester 6 - Advanced media at Fontys. We come from a big variety of specializations like Game Design, Cybersecurity and Smart Mobile. We all have our specialities, some are specialized in research, while some are specialized in design.
