Project description
This project aims to develop a comprehensive plan for PSV to improve its interaction with its fans during matches at the stadium. The program should aim to enhance the match-day experience for supporters, increase their engagement, and create a more positive and exciting atmosphere overall.
Context
Phillips Sport Vereniging (PSV) is a professional football club from Eindhoven. PSV wants to provide fans an immersive and engaging way to experience the stadium and the game. In the past PSV has tried to achieve this by experimenting with different technologies in the PSV Experience Box. Supporters have used this small but unique area in the stadium to get a sneak preview of future technology, sport-innovations, and fan engagement. On the other hand, PSV indicates that they would like these innovations not to be limited to the small (and inconvenient) Experience Box area
Results
Match Prediction Mode: This mode allows fans to predict the outcomes of upcoming matches, such as the winning team, scoreline, or specific player performances. It could incorporate elements like leaderboards, achievements, and rewards to encourage competition among fans.
Player Performance Mode: In this mode, fans can place bets on individual player performances during a match. They can predict the number of goals, assists, or other statistical metrics for specific players. The app could provide real-time updates on player performance and offer in-app rewards for accurate predictions.
Virtual Currency System: Instead of using real money, the app could introduce a virtual currency system. Users can earn virtual currency through various activities within the app, such as participating in prediction contests, completing challenges, or engaging with social features. This approach ensures that the app remains a gamified experience rather than a traditional betting platform.
Social Integration: The app should incorporate social features to encourage fan interaction and engagement. Users can connect with friends, form groups, and compete against each other in betting challenges. They can share their predictions, achievements, and results on social media platforms, fostering a sense of community among fans.
Gamification Elements: To make the app more entertaining, gamification elements such as badges, levels, and virtual rewards can be implemented. Users can unlock achievements for reaching milestones, earn badges for accurate predictions, and progress through different levels based on their participation and success.
In-depth Statistics and Insights: The app should provide fans with comprehensive statistics and insights about players, teams, and past performances. This information can help users make more informed predictions and enhance their overall engagement with the app.
Responsible Gambling Messaging: As the app involves elements of betting, it's crucial to include responsible gambling messaging and provide resources for users who may develop gambling-related issues. This can include tips for responsible betting, links to helplines, and information about setting limits on betting activities.
By focusing on these features, we are working on creating a fan engagement app for PSV that provides an exciting and gamified experience, encouraging fans to interact, compete, and stay connected with the club.
About the project group
All of us are following the ICT & Media Design specialization. We are currently in our 6th semester. Some of us specialize in visuals and design while others focus on development. We spend 12 weeks on our project. We followed the SCRUM Method and divided the tasks into sprints. We also split tasks among ourselves and worked on-site in order to help each other if needed
