Project description
By exploring the research question, "How can Simac become more attractive to non-Dutch people," this project aims to identify specific areas of improvement and implement targeted initiatives to enhance the overall onboarding experience for non-Dutch professionals.
Context
Simac's commitment to providing reliable, cutting-edge technology solutions has earned them a strong reputation as a trusted partner for businesses in the Netherlands and beyond. As Simac expands its reach and seeks to attract non-Dutch professionals, their focus on enhancing the onboarding process demonstrates their dedication to fostering a diverse and inclusive workforce that can effectively meet the evolving needs of their global clientele.
The project in context comes in hand to help creating a more engaging and smooth experience for new hires by highlighting the cultural differences at the company and incentivise them to getting out of their comfort zones.
Results
Through extensive research, including literature studies, interviews and analysis, as well as continuously iterations, the project resulted in a 2-screen communication between a TV dashboard at the company and a mobile application. This communication ensures that visual interactions are emphasized and people are drawn to using the app considering the representation they see on location. In short, a challenges-based app was designed. Where, new employees (and anyone interested at SIMAC), get different challenges to accomplish every now and then. The aim with these challenges is to promote social interaction between co-workers and foster stronger relationships at the company. On top of that, a visual world map representation is part of the concept. That way, users are able to observe the richness of cultures present at the company and enhance everyone's differences.
