Project description
The design challenge of this project was to make the game playable on phone, make a connection between players so they can interact between each other and to make the style of the game congruent. Micro games were also added to make the game more fun and more appealing.
Context
The game is meant for kids that are waiting to get social help. Often, the problems that the kids that wait for social help are facing get worse while waiting in the queue. Our game is meant to link kids with similar problems, making them interact with each other by sending letters where they tell others how their day went, responding to other players' letters and writing in the diary, making the time to wait for getting the help they need feel shorter.
Results
One of he most important outcomes of this project is that we created a good messaging system, so that players can send messages between each other, making sure that the messages reach at least a few players, so in case that some players become inactive, there will still be a few that read them through and reply. Other important outcomes are that we made a congruent style that fits with the game, improved the overall feel of the game by making animations smooth and having sound, and that we made micro games that users will play after certain actions, where they can get stickers to put it in their sticker book, or later on, send to other players to make their day better.
About the project group
In this project, we used SCRUM tools to organize the workflow in sprints and make and divide tasks between each other. The estimative duration of this project is 9 weeks.
