Project description
The main research question of the project is the following: "How can FICT visualize the data extracted from the F1 22 racing game in (almost) real-time while proposing alternatives to engage a gaming community involving lectures and students?"
The challenges we had was the inability to use wifi in our project, which made it quite difficult. Thankfully other students and our content coach helped us fill that void.
Context
The project's context is in the video gaming domain. Our project revolves around the F1 22 game, which is based on the real life Formula 1 racing sport. In the sport data is being used continuously to gain better insights for the drivers. So why isn't there something like this for us casual at home f1 racers? That is the gap we are closing.
Results
The most important result was a functioning F1 dashboard, as no student in our group has ever made a dashboard from the ground up using python let alone with the streamlit library (the library we used). Altough the data transmission part 'works', it can give some bugs but we are currently working hard to resolve this. That is why we are placing our project on TRL level 7.
About the project group
The project group has a diverse academic make-up. The majors in the group consist of the following: Industrial Engineering, Business IT & Marketing management. The project group worked with the Scrum philosophy, we used trello boards, daily standups and worked in sprints.
