Project description
For the Ionbond project the main research question reads:
"How can Ionbond increase their insight into their energy usage so they can be compliant with laws and regulations while reducing their carbon footprint?"
To answer this main question we created five sub questions:
- What is the current situation within the energy registration and monitoring process?
- What is the ideal process regarding energy registration and monitoring?
- Which KPI’s and requirements are needed to realize the desired situation?
- What is the recommended structure for the proof of concept to align with Ionbonds criteria?
- What is the best approach to implement the proof of concept specifically for Ionbond?
Context
By achieving the intended project result, Ionbond will be able to keep track of the energy consumption and CO2 emission of all their plants and countries in one dashboard created In Power BI. This dashboard will collect data from an application created in Power apps. The dashboard will contain multiple visuals and KPI’s emphasizing correlations between energy consumptions and the cycles and sales data. It allows Ionbond to improve their strategical decisions regarding CO2 emissions while being compliant with laws and regulations. Ionbond can use these KPI’s to present it’s monthly co2/kwh figures to their customers and to the government.
Results
the two deliverables that C-Solutions will deliver to Ionbond are:
1. An app created in Microsoft Power Apps, which will serve as an input tool for employees. Employees need to fill in the designated information about the energy consumption, plant data etc.
2. A dashboard developed in Power BI which displays KPI's that contain the energy data from the power app and the sales and cycle data from the ERP-system. The dashboard contains multiple calculations that ultimately lead to a clear overview of the most important KPI's and objectives.
Next to these products, C-Solutions is also providing Ionbond with a business advice including the answers to the research questions, an implementation plan and full user guide regarding the two products. These documents are necessary for making sure that the app and dashboard keep working smoothly in the future.
