Project description
The Fontys Robot lab is dedicated to advancing robotics research and development.
The current project is about creating a prototype chemistry robot that can perform
chemical tests and collect data out of these tests.
There is no system “yet” that inspects chemical tests for data. For a good working first prototype of the whole system there will be multiple iterations and refinements.
Every iteration will give more insight and a better view over how this project can come to a reality inside the Robot lab that will take place in Nijmegen in the future.
The primary goal is to safely achieve accurate data out of chemical processes and make this data available to those who have access.
Context
Fontys Robotlab is a specialized workspace in the Netherlands focused on robotics research and development.
It provides a platform for students, researchers, and professionals to innovate in robotics.
The lab supports a range of activities, including research in hardware, software, and integration of robotics, as well as educational initiatives.
It also offers a controlled environment for prototyping and testing, interdisciplinary collaboration, and industry partnerships.
It aims to develop a prototype of a chemistry robot that can handle various chemical processes and collect data.
The current available setups are larger and less flexible, limiting the freedom to modify workflows.
Results
We created a demo of how the system works with a camera that detects changed in it's vision and create an event. Another system that captures video of when the changes happened. a sensor and a controlunit with dashboard to control and showcase the results.
About the project group
We are Fontys students of semester 6. We worked on this project 4 days a week and we setup this project from the ground up since we are the first group to take on this project.
