Project description
Creating an interactive cooperative board game-like experience that combines digital and physical elements to create a compelling and fun mystery game.
Context
Enversed is currently a virtual reality center, but they're looking to expand their offering with a greater variety of games, both digital and physical - our project is meant to be the introductory experience, getting people into the overall story in an engaging way.
Results
We have developed a gameplay loop that uses physical representations of clues to create a more tactile experience, and designed the game around those objects in a way that encourages discussion between the players. We also designed the game in such a way that it would be easy to play and understand by anyone, whilst still giving players enough options to feel like they are getting room to solve the mystery the way they want to.
We have implemented a basic version of all these features in a digital prototype, investigating how best to create a robust foundation that could easily facilitate adding more elements.
