Project description
The main research question for our project is as follows: “What approaches can PSV utilize to boost fan engagement, be it for fans inside the stadium or from the comfort of their homes, by creating a mobile app-based testing platform that is innovative, interactive, and user-friendly?”. Our responsibility is to conduct comprehensive research and subsequently deliver a final product in the shape of a mobile app.
Context
For the Fontys ICT Media & Design Bachelor program, it is customary for students to undertake a company assignment as part of their education, we've been assigned a project by PSV.
PSV Eindhoven, commonly known as PSV, is a prominent football club based in Eindhoven, Netherlands. Established on August 31, 1913, the club has etched its name in football history as one of the most successful and respected teams in Dutch football. The acronym "PSV" stands for "Philips Sport Vereniging," highlighting its roots in the electronics company Philips, which played a crucial role in the club's early formation.
PSV competes in the Eredivisie, the top tier of Dutch football, and has a rich tradition of success both domestically and on the European stage. The club has consistently been a formidable force in Dutch football, securing numerous league titles and domestic cups over the years.
At PSV, their vision is to create stars together, involving fans & followers, employees & volunteers, partners, and players & staff. Innovation stands as one of their core values, and they firmly believe that collaboration with industry, education, and government will shape the future of the club. The focus on innovation is driven by a desire to make an impact on performance, enhance fan engagement in the stadium and at home, and explore other domains.
Results
The media students finalised a high fidelity prototype based on research conducted by everyone. This allows the smart mobile students to develop and finalize the Innovation and Test platform alongside a dashboard collecting all the feedback from PSV fans.
About the project group
We are an international group of media design and smart mobile students collaborating with PSV on creating an innovation and test platform in the form of an app for their fans. The focus of the media design students is to research and design the app, that will give the smart mobile students a strong clear guideline to develop the app into a fully functional product that PSV can use to start implementing features they would like a select group of fans to test. By testing with a selected group, PSV receive feedback that will help them create better innovative adaptions to their apps.
