Project description
Joint Efforts aims to address low healthcare worker retention by gathering valuable data through surveys for research purposes. The project aims to create a positive work environment that motivates healthcare workers, fostering their learning and development. By collaborating with multiple organizations, the project seeks to enhance its impact, drawing inspiration from successful models during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The lectorate project focuses on developing a dashboard for healthcare workers to view and understand the use of their survey data. Our objective is to design an engaging dashboard that encourages healthcare workers to participate in surveys and provides insights into how their data contributes to improving working conditions.
The central question guiding the project is: "How can we enhance the appeal and engagement of the existing program for healthcare workers?"
Context
The Joint Efforts project operates within the domain of Healthcare and is dedicated to addressing the issue of low retention rates among healthcare workers. The project recognizes the importance of creating a positive work environment to motivate healthcare professionals and facilitate their learning and development. To achieve this goal, Joint Efforts collaborates with multiple organizations and draws inspiration from successful models established during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Results
The most crucial outcome of the project is the development of a dashboard for healthcare workers. This tool serves as a central hub for them to view and understand the use of their survey data. This dashboard is not just a technological solution; it plays a pivotal role in addressing the central question of how to enhance the appeal and engagement of the existing program for healthcare workers.
The value of the dashboard lies in its ability to serve as a bridge between healthcare workers and the data they contribute. By providing a user-friendly and engaging interface, the dashboard becomes a key tool in encouraging healthcare workers to actively participate in surveys. The positive correlation between engagement and data quality is well-established, making the dashboard instrumental in ensuring the reliability of the gathered data.
Furthermore, the dashboard functions as a means of empowerment for healthcare workers. It offers them insights into how their individual contributions contribute to the collective goal of improving working conditions. This sense of purpose and impact is a powerful motivator, aligning with the project's overarching goal of creating a positive work environment.
In terms of validation, the success of the dashboard can be measured by increased participation rates in surveys and sustained engagement over time. These metrics directly correlate with the project's objectives. Higher participation rates indicate that healthcare workers find value in the surveys, while sustained engagement implies that the dashboard effectively sustains their interest and involvement.
From a TRLevel (Technology Readiness Level) perspective, the dashboard positions the project at a stage where it transitions from development to practical application. As a tangible product, the dashboard represents a concrete implementation of the project's research objectives. Its user-centric design reflects a mature understanding of the end-users' needs, ensuring that it is not just a technological solution but a tool that healthcare workers can seamlessly integrate into their workflow.
In summary, the most significant outcomes of Joint Efforts' project revolve around the development and implementation of a user-friendly dashboard for healthcare workers. This dashboard serves as a crucial link between the project's objectives and the active engagement of healthcare workers. Its value is substantiated by its potential to boost survey participation, sustain engagement, and empower healthcare workers by showcasing the impact of their contributions. From a validation and TRLevel positioning perspective, the success of the dashboard directly aligns with the project's overarching goal of improving healthcare worker retention.
About the project group
We are a team of UX designers assigned to integrate a UX-centric approach into the ongoing Joint Efforts project, which has been in progress for the past two years. Our involvement began at the start of the semester, and we have actively contributed to the project over the last five months. Employing the Scrum methodology, we have structured the project into two-week sprints, commencing each day with a standup meeting to assess progress and discuss ongoing product development.
At the conclusion of each sprint, we will conduct a sprint demo for our stakeholders, followed by a retrospective session to evaluate the sprint's successes and identify areas for improvement in subsequent sprints.
