Project description
Our challenge was to figure out if it was possible to make a game with EEG, so complete paralyzed people can play these type of games. An EEG device is used to measure brainwaves. This device is the only device we were allowed to use.
Context
People who suffer from complete paralysis, struggle with finding something fun to do in their life. This project is used to see if it's possible to give these people a fun experience in the form of a videogame. Because complete paralyzed people can not move whatsoever need a special device to play the game with. The device we needed to use was the Crown EEG device from Neurosity.
Results
The endresult of this project features multiple prototypes, each with their own challenge. We tried to include the different challenge, because this is a big aspect of our research. We concluded that it's possible to play games by using your brainwaves. We made two different input methods. The first one features the use of focus. Players can move their character by using their focus. The second is using kenesis. Here you can give input to the game, by thinking about certain things like lifting your left or right arm.
