Project description
This project is a group assignment for the Data-Driven Business Lab minor at Fontys University. A team of three people will work together with an external client, namely an organization called AiReas, on an ambitious project to visualize the effects of air pollution in ways that would be understandable by people without an in-depth understanding of the subject.
Context
AiReas is looking for an innovative way to visualize air quality data to stimulate people to do something about air pollution. For this project, the team will work in cooperation with the co-founder of AiReas, Jean-Paul Close, to create a software solution that displays air pollution data to users in ways that will make them proactive about air quality. Before that can occur, data needs to be collected and manipulated into a form suitable for our needs.
Results
The delivered product is a proof-of-concept mobile application that shows your location’s air quality and gives advice depending on the air quality index. The air quality is determined by using the extracted sensor data from RVM and pollutants threshold and color code that was agreed upon with the IRAS (Institute for Risk Assessment Science from the University of Utrecht) and the RIVM. Furthermore, for this project, the team worked in cooperation with the co-founder of AiReas, Jean-Paul Close to ensure the validation of the project is supported by the client
About the project group
The project group consists of three students with different backgrounds that will work with an external client, an organization called AiReas. Two of the students are ICT students and the other one is an electrical engineering student. The group worked with a scrum sprint of 2 weeks with a weekly standup at the beginning of each week. The students work every Monday, Thursday, and Friday on location at TQ1 and the other days online.
