Project description
Our main research questions were about how to integrate ROS2 and behavior trees together into a program that could then control a fleet of robots.
Context
Our main research questions were about how to integrate ROS2 and behaviour trees together into a program that could then control a fleet of robots. Our project was to build a research prototype for an agricultural robot, with a specific example given to us being about a robot that cleans stables. The end goal beyond the scope of our project is to develop a stable cleaning system that uses multiple robots instead, since this is more resilient and easy to scale up.
Results
Most of our time during the project was spent on researching and learning to work with ROS2 and the behavior trees and documenting our findings for the next group. As a result not much time was left for the component that allows for the cooperative behaviour. We hope we have left behind a solid foundation that a future group can build on, or at least learn from.
