Project description
The project is about an idea from Infoland to be able to deliver notifications to devices without needing a complex signup process or many personal details. With the following being the main research question: “Is a PWA-based push notification system requested by Infoland, ideal for sending out notifications containing images and/or URLs, to anonymous users?”
Context
The idea is to solve a situation where an employer might want to notify personnel of new policies, but said personnel does not have an work e-mail address. And providing personal information is unfavourable. Therefore the above mentioned question was to be researched and validated to have employees be notified via a mobile phone with only a QR-code and optionally providing a name.
Results
First and foremost we have been able to validate the use case for Infoland that a PWA (Progressive Web Application) based solution is viable option for the above mentioned context. With the result being an implementation that Infoland is aiming to implement in to their own Zenya system. Due to completing this project we have been able to learn and achieve the following:
- Complete a project for the stakeholder which will be implemented in their system
- Sending and receiving notifications on client devices (service worker & push manager)
- Working with Microsoft Azure
- Working with PWA technologies
