Project description
The Digital Factory aims to adapt innovative ways of working to improve production processes in the factory and integrating data driven innovations. This is achieved through the integration of the following tools: International Data Space (IDS) and a multi-agent planning system tool. The digital factory relies heavily on International Dataspaces (IDS). Part of the IDS is the AppStore. The App store will be used as an data app management inside the IDS space.
Context
Netherlands Organization for Applied Scientific Research, or TNO, is the organization in charge of this project. TNO's objective is to link people and knowledge, developing innovations that improve societal well-being and industry competitiveness in a sustainable manner.
One of the innovations TNO is working on is the IDS(International Data Space). The International Data Space (IDS) offers an information technology architecture for safeguarding data sovereignty within the corporate ecosystem. It provides a virtual space for data where data remains with the data owner until it is needed by a trusted business partner.
TNO is currently working on its own implementation of an app store for the IDS. The goal of the app store is to provide applications that can execute tasks like transformation, aggregation, or data analytics.
Results
The most important outcome for our project is to create an interface that provides data app management to users inside the IDS space. Users can install these data apps on their connectors through the app store. These data apps provide extra functionalities to their connector.
About the project group
Our project group consists of 4 people from different countries, two from the Netherlands and two from Indonesia. With the cultural differences, our group can work quite well and always try to find solutions to the problems faced. These problems can be solved well because our group works using the Agile method, where we always do stand-up meetings and retrospectives. We worked for four sprints, and during those four sprints, we held regular stakeholder meetings.
