Project description
Portfolio by Drieam is currently desktop-bound. This means that a student needs a laptop, tablet or desktop computer to manage his portfolio and add new evidence. At Drieam, we believe that the portfolio should be able to represent as many learning contexts and experiences as easily as possible. In order to help achieve that, we need a way for students to easily add evidence from their mobile phone, e.g. during internships, location visits and events.
Context
The context of the application is purely for educational purposes. It can be used by students on their phone to upload evidence directly, instead of relying on the desktop version.
Results
The most important outcomes of the project were to create a minimum viable product of a mobile evidence collection application. The app had to use the phone's hardware such as the camera or voice recording and be able to upload the evidence directly to Drieam servers.
Another important outcome was the ability of the application to be used on both Android and IPhone devices by sharing the same codebase. This would allow for the most amount of users to use the app on their phone.
Apart from that, the end result of the application had to have an intuitive and minimal UI, in order to be appealing for the average student.
The last outcome given to us, was to make extensive documentation regarding on how to use our application for further development by Drieam itself.
About the project group
The project duration was 5 months (the entire semester). We worked in the agile methodology called SCRUM, where we had 5 sprints in total.
