Project description
Technology is the future, but don't forget the people.
Our goal is to prevent mental health problems and keep THeMIS operators mentally healthy through technology.
Our product is an embedded system of sensors that keeps track of the vitals of the THeMIS operators. To provide insight into the data from the sensors, a dashboard is used where the data from the sensors is simply displayed.
Context
The Robotics department of the Ministry of Defence asked our class to take a look and improve the THeMIS. The THeMIS is a remote controlled ground vehicle that can be used for different purposes. Our class took a different approach and focussed on the mental well being of the THeMIS operators/soldiers. This new machine can have a huge impact on them. With the help of technology we want to monitor their stress levels to make the user more aware of their mental state.
Results
More attention should be given to the mental health of the soldiers with the use of specialised technology that the soldiers can wear.
