Project description
Our task was to make an improved system that could widely be used among restaurants. The purpose of this system was to make the data as reliable and automated as possible between departments in the restaurants.
So, with that our main research question was: How can the data transfer between restaurants applications be improved while keeping the data reliable?
Context
Our solution is tailored for the catering domain, most notably restaurants.
Results
We have created an improved system that functions as a backbone for other systems to use to transfer data among the computers and cash registers situated in different departments. With our system, the data they send and receive is assured to be reliable.
Any new restaurant can join our system with ease and make use of it however they see fit. We have proved this by collaborating with other groups from two classes, who have attached their systems to ours and used our system to transfer their data to other systems of other groups.
About the project group
We are a group of students from different backgrounds in software engineering who have spent the last 18 weeks working on the project together. Most of our members specialize in frontend, so this project proved to be quite challenging at certain stages.
