Project description
How can augmented reality add value as a pedagogical tool?
Context
Using augmented reality (AR), students can learn about automotive parts in an exciting and innovative way. Traditional textbooks are cumbersome, heavy and difficult to follow. But with EduMotive, all it takes is a phone or tablet to access digital 3D models of various automotive parts. All parts can be viewed in fine detail which enhances learning and enables students to apply it in practice.
Results
We created a full fletched product for our stakeholder that is ready to use and they can manage. We are currently between the 7th and 8th level of technology readiness.
About the project group
Danny and I both study in the Smart Mobile specialisation and also completed or minor in it. We worked 17 weeks on this project with around 24 hours per week. Our way of working was with scrum and through the use of JIRA we created a centralised hub for our sprint plannings, documents and references to the GitHub repository.
