Project description
How can the data automatically be exported, processed, and combined to give insight and to improve business processes about the CO2 information for the Impact centre? And also
Advice BDO how to reduce the Carbon Footprint by creating an automated process for the CO2 data, with additional visualization from requested KPI’s, for the Impact Centre.
Context
BDO is a large international company engaged in accountancy, which are continuously working on innovations and improvements. One of those is to measure the carbon footprint of BDO. As a company you have to deal with impact, BDO think it is important to deal with this as a social interest. In addition, BDO want to create insight into energy consumption. Over the past 2 years, BDO has had to comply with corona rules, whereby many employees have had to work from home. BDO finds it interesting to see whether this has influenced the emissions of the buildings or whether this has continued to emit the same amount. BDO want to receive monthly information so that BDO can steer in real time because it is a shame if unnecessary co2 emissions occur. In addition, it is good for the image of BDO and they can save costs.
Thousands of employees work within BDO, all of them have to travel from home to work or clients on a daily basis. Travel is mainly done by car, bus, or train. In addition to information from vehicles, BDO also has information about the various locations. BDO wants to investigate whether they can measure and reduce the CO2 that BDO emits in order to be better for the environment.
Results
We have delivered a fully working proof of concept consisting of a Power BI dashboard with the KPI’s and requirements that have been established with the stakeholders. In addition to that, CheckIT has delivered advice on how to implement the dashboard and additional insights obtained by process analysis for a reduction of the carbon footprint. And how to better visualize this carbon footprint.
