Covidtravel

Project description

With this project we want to make traveling during covid times easier and more fun. Therefore created a tool that gives an overview of different restrictions and fun activities that are still available.

Context

It turned out that because of all different travel restrictions that are enforced by all different governments it is hard to know if a place is safe to travel to and what limitations there are. Beside this we gave our covid travel tool an overview of different fun activity that are stil open and available.

Results

The result is an project positioned in TRL level 6.

There is an fully automated tool that scrapes the restrictions and activities from government and activity website. After which the restrictions are classified to provide a clearer overview. This is done with an NLP classifier.
All information is stored in the cloud and is easily updated.

There is a professional, easy to use, fully functional and appealing UI that provides a clear overview of the current situation (the number of cases that are displayed on a map) and the restrictions and activities per county.

By conducting a survey we also came up with some future ideas such as a community page and a booking advice.

Martin Frenken (IT student), Burak Başal (trend research and concept creating student) and Tim Oomen (industrial engineering student) are part of the multi disciplinary student company Novo Data.
