Project description
The nrti Facility Management Information System (FMIS) is an existing application which can do function about facilities in big companies like Brainport Industry Campus. One of the functions that was missing was about reserving rooms and machines. This is where the project is about. By using Vue and Firebase we build the reservation module in a fully working "serverless" enviroment.
Context
The Brainport Industry Campus (BIC) has many companies which all work with machinery. These machines are not always in use and can be used by others. Some machines require special attention to avoid them breaking. Hereby a reservation system is needed to replace the current Teams agenda. Hereby we introduce the ntri FMIS tool to comply with the requirements of the stakeholders. We want to reach the requirements from BIC while keeping it generic that ntri can use the project on multiple locations.
Results
In this project we have learned a lot, This is the first time we worked within a serverless enviroment and it took some time to understand the logic about it. The entire project consists of a frontend made in Vue and Firebase which has a NoSQL database and Cloud Functions to trigger when something changes in the database. By using it more and more we got the hang of it and made someting really great! The application has been validated by multiple stakeholders which gave some nice feedback and we used that to improve the application. ntri and BIC are ofcourse the stakeholders we spoke the most and enjoyed the cooperation we had with them.
