Project description
A platform that connects exergames and schools. This enables schools to derive insights from purchased exergame solutions in a safe and connected environment.
Context
Exergames are becoming more and more popular. Children play a game in which they move in order to achieve a goal. Schools are increasingly using this to encourage movement among students.
The problem is that student activity is currently not tracked, or only on a platform of the Exergame itself. So there needs to be a common platform with which the Exergames can communicate in order to exchange data about students and to keep track of progress.
During this assignment we will work on this 'FitKid' platform.
After playing the game or performing an exercise, the Exergame must let FitKid know which movements the student has performed. There is also the possibility to obtain necessary information about the student from FitKid. Think of the name of the student, and what grade he or she is in. This is necessary for ease of use and for pairing.
Another functionality that FitKid will receive is the visualization of the progress of students with regard to meeting predetermined competences.
Results
A working and usable prototype that can communicate with exergames and a dashboard.
