Project description
How do we make digital authorization accessible to every citizen in the Netherlands?
Context
The project relates to civil matters, authorizations in particular. By authorizing someone, you give this person permission to conduct business on your behalf. In practice, the DigiD (online identity) password is often shared instead of an authorization being requested. Because this involves risks, such as identity theft, it needs to change.
Results
Our preliminary investigation showed that the current authorization system could not provide access to all things that require authorization. Each organization has its own authorization process with different steps. There was a clear need from the target group for an unambiguous way of authorizing.
We have therefore devised a hybrid system in which permissions can be requested from both the organization and a central system.
In this system, the emphasis is on the cooperation between an authorization giver and receiver, and past interactions can be used to make future authorizations easier.
About the project group
Our project group consists of 5 final year ICT & Media students, each with different expertise, including: UX/UI Design, UX research, Web development and Ideation.
