Project description
This project is set up to make use of the collaboration between Siemens and SAP. To create a bridge between Siemens Teamcenter (PLM) and SAP AIN to provide this to Atos' customers in the future. To see how such a connection could be made, the following research question needed to be answered:
"How to design a bridge between Siemens Teamcenter, SAP AIN and the Internet of Things so that Atos can define the concepts for the implementation of this type of solution for their customers?”
Context
As mentioned in the project description, this project is based on the collaboration between Siemens and SAP back in June 2020. As of now both Siemens Teamcenter and SAP AIN work along side oneanother. However, there is no connection which means that it takes a lot of time for an operator to get information from the PLM system because they are only connected to the SAP AIN system. With the connection the data can be transferred between both systems in an easier way which takes less time.
Results
The most important result of this project is the research about the T4S4 Gateway. This is a gateway (a connection) specifically build for Siemens Teamcenter (T) for (4) S/4HANA (S4). This gateway allows for documents, Bill of Material, material part, etc. to be transferred to SAP's ERP system: S/4HANA. By using a rest API or SAP Cloud Integration Services it might be possible to connect S/4HANA to SAP AIN. This would mean that a connection between Siemens Teamcenter and SAP AIN can be made, although this would be an indirect connection.
