Symphony of Life invites you to breathe life into a luminous symphony at the GLOW festival. Five majestic pillars stand in quiet darkness, waiting for your touch. As you reach out and make contact, a gentle glow awakens, accompanied by a single, ethereal note.
Each touch unlocks another pillar. The light intensifies, bathing the space in a warm radiance. The music evolves, each additional touch adding a new voice to the growing symphony. As all five pillars come alive, the crescendo builds. Individual notes intertwine, culminating in a harmonious symphony, a testament to the collective power of human interaction.
Symphony of Life is an immersive experience at GLOW, blurring the lines between art and audience. It beckons you to participate, becoming the conductor of a light and sound spectacle. Let your touch be the spark that ignites a symphony of life.
Context
Behind Symphony of Life are sensors and other hardware components. Because the project revolves around using light and user interaction in the form of touch it is comprised of touch detection using time of flight sensors, spotlights which are controlled via digital multiplexed (DMX) which allows us to control the spotlights using channels. Finally, sound is controlled by adding speakers into our pillars and sending serial data to control the volume based on the amount of people touching and how long the pillar has been touched.

Results
With success, our participation in the recent GLOW Festival, where our group delivered a high-quality installation within a challenging deadline.
The installation was met with enthusiastic acclaim, drawing widespread appreciation from the festival's audience. With an estimated attendance of approximately 700,000 people, the event was a vibrant celebration of creativity and innovation, and our project stood out as a highlight of the festival.
