Project description
The primary objective of our project is to develop an automated system for SPIE capable of analyzing data and generating outputs based on the results, utilizing AI to determine predefined outcomes. Additionally, the project emphasizes the importance of implementing robust data security measures throughout the process.
This leads us to our research question:
How can a Business Controller at SPIE improve and enhance the quality and speed of analyses through effective data interactions and reporting processes?
Context
The Business Control department at SPIE seeks an independent and reliable partner to advise and support the management team, ultimately contributing to the organization's success.
As SPIE continues to generate increasing amounts of data, the availability of personnel to analyze and interpret this information has become more limited. However, leveraging data effectively is critical for making informed decisions and achieving organizational goals.
Through this project, SPIE aims to explore how AI can positively contribute to addressing these challenges. The focus is on reducing the time spent on routine tasks and implementing AI solutions capable of interpreting available data to enhance decision-making processes.
Domains: Finance and Software
Results
We have been developing an AI system capable of generating PowerPoint presentations based on collected data and providing insights into the potential reasons behind specific outcomes. This process ensures that data is securely managed within a Microsoft Azure environment and utilized by the AI systems to initiate the analysis effectively.
Our project is on this moment at TRLevel: 6

Kevin Oudheusden – 3 years Finance and Control
Thijs Kuijpers - 3 years Finance and Control
Jip Voss – semester 1 Demand based, semester 2 and further Delta excellency
Gijs Verdonk – semester 1 Demand based software, semester 4 and further Delta excellency
Joy van Rijn – semester 1 Demand based business, semester 3 and further Delta excellency
About the groups dynamic:
This group exhibits a unique dynamic, as we have been collaboratively working on two studies simultaneously within the project. By integrating expertise from Finance and Control as well as ICT, we aim to achieve the highest possible standards for this initiative. Over the course of one semester (six months), we have dedicated significant time to brainstorming, analyzing, designing, and testing new algorithms. In essence, we have engaged in the entire software development lifecycle while leveraging the diverse knowledge from both fields within our team
