How can we easily and objectively map unconscious bias within teams or target audiences?
Context
Everyone is biased. This is only natural but can have an impact on decision-making. Can we create a tool that objectively maps and visualizes the biases within a team or target audience? This information can be used to improve decision-making. This project will be a collaboration with the center of expertise Inclusive Society and the Fontys HR department. The project will focus on HR processes for this initial pilot.
Results
We made a web application, that implements the design document we made, which is based on research findings.
Most of the research consists of doing expert interviews (7 in total, including psygoligy, HR and IDEAS experts). We found out what the best approach is for indusing the want for change in people trough design and specific woring. We also did some literary study on existing products and on what theories they are based on.
The resulting web app allows teams to:
- create/select a targer audience to focus on (for example a specific age group)
- have the team awnser questions revolving around the target audience (for example their ages)
- a visualization of the gap between the team and target audience (for example if the team covers the age range of the target audience)
