Data Spaces Project; DIGIREAL-XL x Argaleo x Municipality of Eindhoven
Project description
In our project, we explore the strict regulatory constraints and technical challenges of connecting a Data Space to Argaleo's DigiTwin platform. Decisions are supported by extensive research and found bottlenecks. Extensive documentation and future advice is given for this project. A Proof of Concept is delivered, simulating a Data Space that Argaleo can connect their DigiTwin platform to.
Context
Connecting to the Smart and Sustainable Cities and Communities Data Space (DS4SSCC) is one of the initiatives the municipality of Eindhoven subscribes to. By displaying the data in this dataspace in a digital twin by Argaleo, the municipality hopes to get the most out of this technology. By sharing international knowledge and data through Data Spaces, the municipality hopes to pioneer in efficient infrastructure planning and smart city technology. By connecting it with a digital twin like DigiTwin this becomes an even more viable idea.
Results
Our main deliverable is the Proof of Concept. A delivery of a data pipeline that includes an ETL process, sending API, database and retrieving HTTP-GET API. This can seamlessly integrate with DigiTwin. Additional deliverables are: technical documentation, advice for the future and a detailed research report.
About the project group
Our projectgroup consists of five third- and fourth-year students from the Advanced Business track of Fontys ICT. Three of us followed the Artificial Intelligence specialisation and one of us followed the Creative Technology specialisation. Over the course of half a year, we spent one-third of our available time to bring this project to fruition. One of the key methodologies we used was the DOT-framework. It is possible that the project continues with a new group of students after we are done.
