Project description
How can a security test bench for IoT devices be created to complement the INTERSECT framework, to perform automated security testing?
Context
This project is part of the INTERSCT national research program focused on IoT security. We use an existing framework with security principles and best practices to design and analyze IoT systems. The goal is to automate testing these best practices to ensure IoT devices are secure. This involves selecting specific security practices, creating an automated test environment, and validating these tests on real IoT products.
Results
Validate the framework that was given to us. We’ll be doing this by creating automated tests that can validate the security of IoT devices against the key principles and best practices outlined in the security framework.
Implement diverse testing techniques and methodologies that cover some of the “Must Have” and “Should Have” security aspects identified in the framework. More of this will be outlined in the “Research Scope”.
Demonstrate the effectiveness and practical value of the automated tests by applying it to real-world IoT products and documenting the findings.
